Members of the Schoenhut family of toy makers immigrated to the United States in the1860s from
Germany. Albert Schoenhut started the company in 1872 in
Philadelphia PA making toy pianos that he had invented. |

The Humpty Dumpty circus
The Humpty Dumpty circus was produced by Schoenhut in various
styles between 1903 and 1935. Collectors construct their own circus
displays from the many animals, actors, and accessories. Since
this toy line was very popular in its day, there are still many surviving
pieces. Club members have access to a comprehensive and up-to-date
